Right across the street from Disneyland, Downtown Disney is a great place to hang out with friends, family, or a date. Beautiful lights light up the area after the sun goes down, and gives it a nice, relaxing or romantic feeling.
There are plenty of stores like a huge Build-A-Bear Workshop, The Lego Store, Sephora, Quiksilver, House of Blues, RIDEMAKERZ, Sunglass Icon, and Anna and Elsa’s Boutique from the popular movie Frozen to shop at. When hungry, you can stop by Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, or Earl of Sandwich for a tasty meal.
Getting bored is not very likely. If you’d like to see the firework show from Disneyland for cheap, go on over to Downtown Disney. It provides a great view of the show, and for free. You don’t have to pay the price of a Disneyland ticket, only the price of a parking ticket if you stay longer than two hours. There’s a huge AMC Theater located right at the entrance that plays all the latest movies. The theaters are well air conditioned and sell fantastic popcorn. If you watch a movie, you won’t have to pay the parking ticket fee, which is great!
If you’re looking for somewhere to hang out and not spend much money, just go to Downtown Disney to listen to some music. Every weekend, mariachi bands and other musicians perform on the stages placed throughout the park. My favorite part is when the swing bands play on Saturday night and professional dancers in costumes come out and dance. If you’re not much of a dancer, it’s still entertaining to see the other couples dance and strut their stuff. It’s a great way to get out of the house and get some exercise!
