Goodbye Junior Year

Hello lovelies! Today I’m, unfortunately, not going to be introducing you guys to a new place to go in your spare time. I kind of just wanted a blog post to myself today. You guys can learn a little bit about me and my junior year, while I’ll have a bit of something to look back at and be like “Oh my gosh, Junior year… Yeah…”

This, is Mr. Ziebarth, one of the most lively and full of enthusiasm teacher I’ve ever had. It was Halloween and we, our AP English Lang/Comp class, went outside because there was a fire drill during first period. At this point, school was still pretty fun, nothing stressful yet, and I still felt like a sophomore living the life of being able to sleep at 10:30 or 11:00 at night. Oh how I miss that ever so much.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the school year. This is David and he is full of sass, but everyone just loves him. This was during Bell Week on Tie-dye day, I’m not sure which day of the week.

I also took a picture with Cynthia who’s also in UndrgrndOC. She’s very stunning as you can see. She’s helped me get through Junior year. Whenever I needed help with something, she’d be there for me. Whenever someone was annoying one of us, we’d complain about it. We’ve been through a lot together, but she’s probably the only reason why I didn’t leave high school and go to community college. Yeah, I actually thought about it. Haha…

Oh, my lovely group, excluding Bree. Unfortunately, there’s not enough desks at our table for her to sit with us, but she sits at the next table with Vicki and Maggie, close enough for us to still communicate with her. We, as a group, have gotten so close. This was the day before their AP English exam. I didn’t take it because of personal reasons, but hopefully I can take it next year. 🙂 There’s Andrew with his pancake that Mr. Ziebarth made, Naomi with her tiny little thumbs, and Cynthia and Sebastian with their amazing smiles. I couldn’t ask for a better group. I’m really going to miss them. Hopefully I’ll see them a lot next year. ❤

Well, just for the fun of it, here’s another picture of Mr. Ziebarth. Here’s the thing, I was going to take a picture of our class with my phone, but I didn’t know that my front camera was on so Mr. Ziebarth poses for the camera, and I just clicked the camera button. I will always have this picture, that’s totally not creepy. LOL… He has no thumbs. 🙂 Cool right?

There’s also this that I wanted to talk about. Here’s Naomi and me with cut out hearts. FVHS ASB decided to do this lovely thing called “Share the Love”. For every student at our school, they got a heart with their name on it, and there was a cute little note on it. It brought smiles to people’s faces and made us feel special, maybe for the first time, who knows. It was a very sweet thing to do, and I’ll probably keep the heart for the rest of my life.

Here’s one thing that I won’t forget about junior year. I will never forget that in every class, no matter what class it was, I would always keep checking the clock to see when we would get out. I was so tired. I had tennis and all my homework to do, I didn’t really know how to balance all that out. I also live in a house with 8 other people, so it was hard to concentrate. With that being said, I couldn’t focus on my homework, so it took me a lot more time to finish my homework. I then started to finish my homework at around 12:30 or so, but even when I got into bed, I couldn’t call asleep until 2:30. I would wake up two times each night, and it was a pain going through that every single day. Hopefully, my senior year will be better. Maybe I’ll adapt to my environment. I’ll never know what’s ahead of me. I’ll just have to keep living life to see what’s up for me the next day. Maybe something awesome will happen.

MORE Underground OC

Hi guys!

If many of you guys did not know, Underground OC is run by 6 high school students to write essays and essays and essays about the hot, and radical, spots of OC.  What we write about can be in the mode of a narrative, descriptive, and basically anything. As you can see, much of our blog is through informing you guys about the swell locations around the Orange County-Los Angeles area.  For example, we have posts about Zero Degrees, the Anaheim Convention Center, and Diamond Jamboree.

Our main goal, however, is to publish a book that will be a collection of all the work we are writing- behind the scenes and that on our blog.  Our book is not only going to be “oooh, check out this place, and you should go here because…”  Our book will be unique because along with the collection of hot-spot locations, some of our very own experiences and deep feelings with the locations will be shared with you guys.  That is what will make our book special, and hopefully will entice you guys to grab one when it is out!

Sebastian, our Social Butterfly, is missing in this photo.  But, here is a special photo of him just for you guys:

When I stated above that our writing will be strictly essays, that will in a way be false.  Our writing will be aimed at taking away the “essay feel” for most of our works; because who wants to read an essay?  You guys will be a participant in our stories because our book will be writing, a writing that we hope will make you guys feel some typa way, y’know what I’m sayin?

So with this, on our blog, you guys may also be seeing posts about the process of getting this book put together from all of us.  If you guys read the about us posts (posted earlier about September 2014), there is more as to what our main jobs are in getting this book done and complete!

Andrew

Hi guys! I’m Andrew Doan and I’m one of the members of Underground OC.

In our group, I’m in charge of anything technologically related, ranging from our social media sites to operating our camera equipment.

Every since I was a child, I loved to play video games. When my uncle got his Xbox when it first came out, I was next to him almost every weekend, watching him play Halo. I suppose that he has been my inspiration to become technologically savvy. He always seemed to know which computer was best, how to use every kind of software, and about all the newest gadgets. As I grew up, I tried to emulate him back reading about computers and new tech, which led to me becoming our technician. When I work with computers or a new program, time just seems to disappear. I could spend hours just playing around with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. It just comes to me in a sort of intuition. I always seem to know how to operate technology, no matter how new or different it is.

I hope you guys follow our blog and have a nice day!

Hey readers! My name is Cynthia Nguyen, and I am one of six representatives from Underground OC dedicated to unveiling OC’s coolest spots.

In Underground OC, I am responsible for the editing/words/writing. When it came to choosing roles within the group, there was no doubt in my mind as to which one I wanted. My decision was writing, all the way. It’s occurred to me that not many people enjoy a task like writing, but for me, writing has definitely always been an irreplaceable getaway.

I know for a fact that I got my love for writing from my mom, who I always knew was or would be a poet in some other lifetime. I remember going to the beach with her every Sunday to just relax and hang, but instead of bringing books, we brought loads of pen and paper. I don’t EVER remember experiencing a dull moment sitting there on the beach for hours on end, just writing to my heart’s content.

Writing was a safe haven that I knew I could ALWAYS count on. Writing was my sanctuary, and mommy was my muse. Seeing her so caught up in writing about anything and everything, shutting the world out for as long as she could, and filling endless journals with her thoughts, no matter how small, was what inspired me to keep writing, even when I didn’t have anything to say. Mom always said that the best way to get my feelings out is through writing. She said that you can never go wrong with a trusty pen and paper.

It’s no wonder as to why words was my first choice when it came to my interests and strengths. It’s always been such a big part of my life, and even now that I’m older, I can’t let it go.

The last thing I want to do is let my other team members down because in reality, we’re all in this together. I hope I didn’t disappoint with this post and I hope I don’t disappoint with my future blogs.

Please tune in next time for some more one on one time with me! Until next time readers~

XOXO

Cynthia

Naomi

Hello friends!  I am Naomi Chau, and I will be a contributing member to Underground OC.

What is Underground OC?

We are a group of 6 students who will publish our work in regards to the Hot Spots of OC, including many known and unknown locations.  This will be our main blog where you guys can keep up with our behind-the-scenes work.  Our main goal will be to publish a book; so welcome!  And here is a bit about myself (other members will be introduced through a span of weeks so be on the lookout for that!):

I am the organizer.  I make sure all members are on task, completing their jobs with dedication, and organize all things with Underground OC.

I have always had a passion for organization because it paves things to be easier, accessible, and keeps myself on task.  Being in high school, I’ve learned the importance and benefits of organization.  While many of my friends wait until last minute and procrastinate, I try my best to plan things out so there is no unnecessary stress added to my life.  ORAGANIZATION (& hard work) is the KEY to surviving High School smoothly. I’ve been the secretary of a couple clubs on my school’s campus so you could say my organization skills are on point.  The main things I use for organization are:

  • Google Docs
  • Google Spreadsheets
  • Google Forms

Basically, all things with Google drive because I do own a chromebook; and everything with Drive makes things easily accessible and shared.

I would love to increase my organization skills so do you guys have any organization tools I could use?  If so, comment below!

So yup, I may be the organizer, but I hope I don’t come off as a control freak.  (I secretly may be one but not in a bad way.)

Bye guys!! See ya soon 🙂

Naomi
